So, if you are suffering from severe mood swings then try some workouts at home and if possible go to the gym. It will lift your mood and help you to say goodbye to feelings of sadness, anger, irritability etc.
  • Relieve fatigue-
According to the Office on Women’s Health(OWH), performing physical activity during the period can stimulate the energy level of the women. Women generally feel tired and fatigued during the menstrual cycle but it is seen that performing exercise can help to boost energy level removing fatigues.
  • Help in reducing cramps-
As per the study in the Journal of Education and Health Promotion, it was found that women who perform the exercise for at least three days in a week had fewer menstrual cramps than that of the women who did not workout at all.

During the period, physical activity does not have to be intense as it may cause problems. Walking for 10-15 minutes also can work great during periods.

  1. Over-exercising can cause a person to miss their period due to the hormonal changes in the body. If you miss your period due to over-exercise consult with your doctor.
  2. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Dehydration increases during the period which results in constipation, bloating, stomach upset, and so on. Drink at least 3-4 liters of water daily. Drink water every 15 minutes. It can help a lot during your menstruation cycle.
