Oats are one of the healthiest grains. The scientific name of oats is Avena Sativa. Oats are mainly whole grain foods. Oats are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. Oats have many health benefits.

The benefits of oats are many. Oats are one of the famous options for breakfast. The dietary nutrient and fiber present in oats helps in preventing several health issues. Oats contain a well-balanced quantity of all the nutrition. Oats are rich in fiber. Oats are a good source of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and antioxidants. Oats contain manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc folate, vitamin B5, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin B3, a small amount of calcium and potassium.

1. OATS CHILLA

Oats Chilla

Oats chilla is one of the best recipes you can try for weight loss. You can make oats chilla for breakfast. Oats chilla is very delicious and works wonder in losing weight. To make oats chilla you must follow the process.
Preparation time: 5 minutes.
Cooking time: 10-20 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup instant oats.
  • 1/4 cup gram flour.
  • 1 medium-sized capsicum finely chopped.
  • 1 medium-sized onion finely chopped.
  • 1 tomato finely chopped.
  • 1 inch ginger.
  • 2 green chilies finely chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder.
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder.
  • 1 egg.
  • Salt to taste.

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl add the instant oats.
  2. In the same bowl add gram flour, capsicum, onion, tomatoes, chopped green chilies, cumin powder, ginger, turmeric powder, egg, salt to taste and mix them well.
  3. Add 100-150 ml water and make a batter of the right consistency.
  4. Heat a nonstick pan and spread the batter nicely and cover the pan.
  5. Add oil if necessary.
  6. Once the base is cooked flip it over and cook until both sides are equally cooked.
  7. Serve hot with curd (optional).

2. OATS KHICHDI

Oats Khichdi

Oats khichdi is another healthy and tasty recipe you can try in your breakfast. Let’s see how to make oats khichdi.
Preparation time: 5minutes
Cooking time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup instant oats.
  • ½ cup moong dal.
  • 1 medium-sized onion finely chopped.
  • 1 tomato roughly chopped.
  • 1 medium-sized carrot finely chopped.
  • 1-inch ginger finely chopped.
  • Seasonal vegetables.
  • 2-3 beans finely chopped.
  • 1 tablespoon ghee.
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds.
  • 1-2 dry chili.
  • 1-2 green chili.
  • ¼ turmeric powder.
  • Salt to taste.

Instructions:

  1. Soak the moong dal in water for 10-20 minutes.
  2. Heat the pressure cooker and add ghee.
  3. Add dry chili, cumin seed and ginger.
  4. Add all the vegetables and saute them until they are cooked.
  5. Wash the moong dal and add with the cooked veggies.
  6. Add the oats and mix them well.
  7. Add water as needed and salt to taste.
  8. Close the lid of the pressure cooker.
  9. Cook until 2 whistles.
  10. Serve hot.

3. OATS PULAO

Oats Pulao

Oats pulao is also a delicious and easily cooked recipe. It is also a good option for breakfast. Vegetable pulao is one of the most favorite recipes for the Indians but oil and rice make the dish a bit unhealthy. So you can try this oats pulao which is a better and healthy option. Let’s see how to make oats pulao.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oats.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil.
  • 1 medium-sized finely chopped onion.
  • ½ cup beans finely chopped.
  • ½ carrot finely chopped.
  • 1 tomato finely chopped.
  • ½ tsp ginger garlic paste.
  • 2-3 green chilies finely chopped.
  • 3 cups of water.
  • Salt to taste.

Instructions:

  1. Heat a pan and roast the oats for 2-3 minutes until slightly golden.
  2. Keep aside the oats.
  3. Add olive oil to the pan and add the onion, carrot, tomato, beans and green chilies and saute them until cooked.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix them well.
  5. Add oats and salt.
  6. Add water and cover the lid.
  7. Cook until the water is soaked.
  8. Serve hot.
